Pogacha is a popular bread in the Slavic world, including Macedonia. There are many varieties of this bread, if you ask me, pogacha with white cheese is the best of all. This is a recipe about pogacha made of cornflour, which is healthier than regular wheat flour.
- 1 kg of cornflour
- 250 g oil
- 500 g spinach
- 250 g white cheese
- Put some oil on the baking pan, then sprinkle a layer of flour with a thickness of a finger, then sprinkle it with saltwater, so the flour is soaked, but not too wet. Then again, sprinkle with some oil.
- Mix oil with corn flour, add some salt and sugar. Add this mixture in the pan.
- Wash the spinach, cut into small pieces and mix with the previously crushed cheese. Add this mixture in the pan.
- Sprinkle flour as in step 1, then water and then oil above and put to bake for about 30 minutes on 200 degrees. When baked, remove from oven, sprinkle it with warm yogurt and cover to soak yogurt. It is served hot with yogurt or sour milk.
