Albanian Red Pepper Salad (Sallatë Speca i Kuq)


A great alternative salad, add the oil first and fry – serve warm or cold. This Albanian Red Pepper Salad works well with Albanian Lakror or Pite.


Albanian Red Pepper Salad (Sallatë Speca i Kuq)


Servings: 4 People

Preparation time: 15 Minutes



  • 2 Red Peppers (Cubed)
  • 1 Onion (Diced)
  • 1 Tbsp Basil (Fresh)
  • Garlic Oil
  • Salt and pepper



Pour a small amount of Garlic oil into a frying pan and lightly fry the red pepper and onion for 5 minutes. Add the salt, pepper, and basil – stir well. Once the onion starts to brown remove from the heat and put onto a serving dish. You can serve the red pepper salad warm or cold.
